Note: If a Noosy adapter card was included, it is to adapt the size of the SIM card included in the package to the MOFI's full-size SIM socket.   The metal tool included with the Noosy card is used with some hotspots to open the SIM slot; it isn't needed for the MOFI.

To swap the SIM in the MOFI, do the following.

  1. Unplug the MOFI.
  2. The SIM card is plugged into the left side of the MOFI unit.  It may be by itself or in a plastic adapter that increases its size to fit the MOFI's SIM socket.
  3. With the MOFI top facing you (i.e. so you can see the status LEDs), carefully press on the edge of the card.  You will hear a click, then release it and it will slide out a little.
  4. Carefully grasp the edges and pull it out.
  5. Use the appropriate SIM adapter if your new SIM is not a full-sized SIM.  Insert the SIM card into the adapter with the gold contacts facing up, away from the plastic adapter.  Press the SIM down into the adapter so it is as flush to the top as you can make it.
  6. Insert the SIM into the MOFI's SIM port.  The "cut corner" of the SIM should be the end entering the MOFI first, with the rest of the card and tray following.
  7. Push the tray and SIM back in.
  8. Plug the MOFI back in.  Wait for it to power up.  It takes about 3 minutes to fully power up.

Check if the internet LED lights up.  If it does not, please do the following two actions.

First, reset the MOFI's internal modem and see if that recovers the connection.

1. Open your non-Chrome browser (e.g. IE, Firefox, or Safari), enter 192.168.10.1 in the address line at the top of the browser window. The login password is admin
 2. On the left side menu, click on Network > Mofi Internal Modem
 3. Click the Press Here to RESET the Sierra Module button near the bottom of that screen.
4. After a short delay, the MOFI should reset. The LEDs will flash on and then go off and the Power LED will blink as the router boots up.
5. The bootup takes just under 3 minutes and you should see all 3 lights on. The “Internet” LED may take a little longer to come on than the others.

Next, do a hard reset on the MOFI.
1. Open your non-Chrome browser (e.g. IE, Firefox, or Safari), enter 192.168.10.1 in the address line. Login password is admin
 2. On the left side menu, click on System > Factory Default. Click on Perform reset. After a short delay, the MOFI will reset.
 3. Check after 3 or 4 minutes if the internet LED comes on.

If that does not recover the connection, please repeat the two steps again.

If the connection is still not up after that, please gather some information, that will allow me to look into it further.
  1. Log into the MOFI (http://192.168.10.1 password: admin) using internet explorer, firefox or safari (do not use Google Chrome)
  2. In the left-hand menu, click on Gather Support Logs
  3. Enter something for the Name, Email and Description of Problem fields (any text will do as long as something is entered), then click Next
  4. Click on Press Here to Generate Logs. It will sit for a short period of time while it collects the information into a compressed file.
  5. When it is finished, a new screen will appear. Click on Download Logs to PC. By default, it will download it to your browser's current download directory.
A file named systemlog.tar.gz is created.  Just attach that file as an attachment to this ticket and send it and I'll take a look.
